It’s always a total pleasure to be a part of anything ‘It’s Freezing in LA’ magazine, so when I was asked to do another center fold for their tenth issue it was a no-brainer. ‘Plants’, the new issue, is out now and full of artwork and articles created by a team of amazing, intelligent people talking all things climate change and science. What an honour to be in such company.

This edition, I created a double narrative spread ‘On The Edge’ with the incredible guidance and input of Nina Carter and Martha Dillon. I wanted to look at moments science and magic intersect one another:

“Year round, scientists travel to some of the most remote corners of the plant to try to better understand the climate crisis. Their work covers everything from ice cores to microbes. Holly O’Neil imagines what exploring the boundary less worlds of moss, which are proving resilient to the impacts of global heating, might feel like.”
